Formation flew a course of 5 degrees to beach area, reaching it at.0610 hours at altitude of 14,000 feet. Lt. Moderate, heavy , accurate and barrage type flak at SALERNO. Fires were observed at SAISRKO Harbor. Italian Ma.202s were seen flying at 8,000 feet, (bearing German markings), with A-36b at 1740 hours. 2 light puffs of flak seen in Apples area, west of SALERNO. Weather; over all routes and areas, hazy. Patrolling discontinued at 1840 hours and formation flew a course heme of I85 degrees. No target of opportunity was given.
